Traditional mindfulness and regulation interventions are not always experienced the same way across individuals. Factors such as trauma history, chronic stress exposure, neurodevelopmental differences, sensory processing patterns, dissociation, and cultural context can significantly influence how clients respond to common interventions. This toolkit was developed to help clinicians think more flexibly and responsively about nervous system regulation in real-world practice.
